At first when Sophie and Oad invited us to have a drink with them, I hesitated, because we didn’t really talk much before, just played pool together and shared our beloved about movie.
Another thing frustrated me a lot is their French accent and I’m sure my Asia accent troubles them, too. However, I’m curious about if there is any difference of night life in Australia.
Actually clubbing here is no big difference, the music remixed, the drink with too much ice, the waving of the dance, the lonely people for one night stay. When the guy asked for a kiss, I cheated him that I already get a boyfriend. He laughed and said “Seriously?”
Of course people came here for fun and didn’t mind who you are, where you are from, which guy you are dating with. Some of them are just too lonely. Another Aussie with neat hair and brand new shoes asked my feeling about clubbing, I just shrugged and asked him the same question. “Not at all…”he said he came by his friend’s invitation. When Sophie came for me and ready to go back, we shook hands. I’m so pleased to see his surprised face. He might think this Taiwanese girl is really old-school. We both know that we are just passerby and probably will not see each other again.
So how do I feel about clubbing? For me, just like smoking and drinking, it’s a way of socialization and knowing people. Some westerners tried to act like a stranger the very next day, because they forgot or tried to pretend they can’t remember anything about the drunken night.
I have heard the same culture in Japan. The workers thought what happened after drinking is forgivable, and they can do something crazy like putting socks on their hands.
Maybe I am just too old to love the effect of alcohol and get involved to the imagination world.
